xQc, HasanAbi and Asmongold provide their take on the recent fatphobic outrage on social media

A recent blind dating video has taken over social media and has also become a topic of interest for popular streamers such as xQc, HasanAbi and Asmongold. These mainstream creators had a bold take on the ongoing internet rage against the guy present in the video who is labelled as being ‘fatphobic’ by the web heads.

Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel came back for his Twitch livestream after battling Covid-19 and double ear infection. As he watched the clip with his viewers, he was immediately against a twitter post where the guy was called ‘fatphobic’, he explained that if someone doesn’t like a girl who is beyond their threshold and that makes them fatphobic, he can be called the same as well.

“Yeah I’m fu**ing fatphobic bi**h a**, what the fu*k are you gonna do about it,” the streamer began with his unabashed take folowing by an explanation that someone’s body weight can be fixed if they wish to, ‘fatphobic’, therefore shouldn’t be a big deal. However, he agreed that it is problematic if people make fun of someone’s height as that is beyond repair.

HasanAbi agrees with xQc’s views

Political Twitch streamer Hasan ‘HasanAbi’ Piker had some similar views to offer when he checked out the clip uploaded by xQc. He stated, “He’s (xQc) not wrong about this either, like people are more open about their preferences of men being short.” Prior to this, Hasan had checked the viral tweet post which was the real cause of his rage.

The tweet presents some clips from the blind dating video where it has been described that the blindfolded guy is pressing the buzzer, indicating that he doesn’t wish to date the girl after realizing they were fat after he hugged them. The user called the guy ‘fatphobic’ but popular streamers such as HasanAbi were vehemently against it.

"What are you supposed to do? Is he supposed to go on a date and live happily ever after with someone he is not physically attracted to? I find this so f*cking strange because you don't do that, anyone who says that you do that, is lying, okay?"

this video is misleading because Nathan, the dude that buzzed her, hugged every single girl that sat down and when he realized they were fat, he immediately pressed the buzzer. This dude is actually just fatphobic. https://t.co/TPkxmMFcBy

He went on to provide an example of how people are hypocritical as they don’t come out of their conventional beauty standards when they are attracted to celebrities like Harry Styles rather than being attracted to a ‘fat guy’ who is down the corner from them.

Asmongold has a similar opinion

OTK co-founder Zack ‘Asmongold‘ recent YouTube video also features him addressing the recent fatphobic outrage on social media. The streamer who has previously claimed that calling someone fatphobic isn’t the right thing to say, reiterated the fact once again after defending the guy and claiming that he’s impressed of him.

"So yeah, people are all mad. Third time he hugs a girl, and the producers say he's a model. But what's this here? So he's hugging the girls to tell if they are fat. I'm really impressed. I like this guy."

Asmongold went on to say that people can’t force their opinions on the guy and make him date someone with whom he is not attracted to. He claimed, ““People care so much about having their preferences be socially acceptable. It’s exhausting to me how much people want to get the approval of other people whose main hobby is watching TV.”

Fans are surprisingly supportive of the streamers

Most of the viewers and fans of xQc and other content creators who spoke out on this matter were agreeing to their views explaining that no one is entitled to one’s opinions and can have their own preferences. A user even wrote that not dating fat people doesn’t mean they’re fatphobic. It rather describes their preferences which shouldn’t be criticized.
