EAGLE, Idaho (CBS2) — "Only in Idaho." Some 1,600 sheep will once again begin their journey from Wilder towards the Boise National Forest, crossing Highway 55 in Eagle on Saturday, April 20.
The sheep crossing has become something of an event for locals. The sheep returned home to Wilder in October.
While grazing their way to and through the Boise Foothills and the Boise National Forest, the sheep help to reduce wildfire and fertilize the land along the way.
The sheep are expected to reach the intersection of Highway 55 and Beacon Light in Eagle on Saturday, April 20, between 9:00 am and 9:30 am.
