Couldnt even hold the bat, Juan Soto opens up about injury SCARE prior to game between Yank

NY Yankees Juan Soto talks about injury scare after game with Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday at Rogers Centre. In a surprising turn of events, Soto was added to the Yankees roster just minutes before their call. His right-hand injury plagued the player since Friday when he slid home on J.D. Davis’ fourth RBI double.

As per reports, Soto had trouble batting on Saturday and even early Sunday he was considered to be out of the lineup. Recalling Friday’s game, he said “you just forget about everything” when a player is on the field and “try to win the game for your team.” According to him, thankfully the swelling was in a position where he could still play for the NY Yankees and boost the team in their 8-1 victory.

On the other hand, New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone spoke about a behind-the-scenes incident where Juan Soto entered his office to ask “Is it too late to get back in there?” Although it was a last-minute call, the team managed to “kind of scrambled and switched it up.”

We went through a lot of exercises and treatments before the game. As I started hitting in the cage, it started getting better and better.

This will be his second injury scare of the month as the 25-year-old was forced to miss a couple of games from June 7-9 against the Los Angeles Dodgers. “It’s really frustrating,” he exclaimed. However, the outfielder is still not yet cleared from medical tests. He may undergo an MRI or CT in New York ahead of future games. So far Rogers Centre X-rays cleared out the player from any serious injuries.

Juan Soto and Aaron Judge boost team to 8-1 victory against Blue Jays

Manager Aaron Boone admitted that Juan Soto’s last-minute call to the lineup “played a big part in getting us going there.” Despite having issues with his hand, Juan Soto blasted 106.5mph in his first at-bat, followed by Aaron Judge’s 31st Major leading homer.

Boone commented about the weather in which the players are forced to play noting what Judge and Soto have done is “as a tandem is hard to wrap your brain around.” The 6x MLB-All Star added,

I heard [Soto] hitting in the cage and it sounded pretty loud, so I figured that was a good sign. It was good to have him back out there and get back to doing what he does.

Apart from Judge and Soto, Gerrit Cole’s performance in the latest game also boosted the team’s overall performance. He hit his first victory of the season after dealing with returning from IL. He completed 5 innings in his third start in the game followed by Judge’s strong performance. In their next game, the team will face off against the Cincinnati Reds.
